Drawing on release-based techniques, communication through touch, and Rhys’ background in both Hip Hop and contemporary dance, his workshops take participants through sequences of flow, contact partner work, rhythm and musicality. We will focus on pushing our physicality with these techniques, while maintaining a high level of sensitivity and awareness to respond to the atmosphere and camaraderie we create in the studio.

Rhys’ practice is centred around an array of disciplines he has studied and also influenced by artists he has worked with such as TJ Lowe, Seke Chimutengwende, HUMANHOOD and his collaborative practice with FUBUNATION.

Rhys has taught workshops and classes for a variety of people and contexts including Conny Janssen Dance Company (Rotterdam), Heather Walrond Dance Company, London Contemporary Dance School, Laban, Irie! Dance Theatre, UNICAMP (Sao Paulo), Federal University of Bahia (Salvador), Casa SoMovimento (Salvador), 4fürTANZ Platform (Germany), Dancebace (Scotland), Southbank centre (SXWKS), Dance4/ FABRIC (Pro class), Trip Space, Centre 151, Advantages of Age (Over 60's), Dance East (Kickstart cohort).

Rhys’ teaching practice is designed for professional dancers,  students in higher education and non-dancers of mature ages who are interested in diving into new movement methods.
